Human Centric Lighting and Healthcare Light
Human centric lighting with and without blue wavelengths stimulates our human biological clock, having a positive effect on our well-being, health and work conditions.
Healthcare colored light scenarios are used for surgeries, ultrasound, screen work, energy boost and relaxing as well as it can help optimize working conditions.
Purpose
To stimulate people’s health, sleep patterns and create better working conditions with evidence based circadian lighting protocols and colored scenarios.
Target group
Hospitals, psychiatric hospitals, eldercare, industrial facilities and schools.
Impact for citizen
Research shows that full dynamic circadian lighting can boost and block our production of hormones and reset our circadian rhythm. Correct dose of light creates more energy, awareness, better sleep, works against seasonal affective disorder, reduces the need for multiple types of medication.
Impact for staff
The staff experience better sleep after nightshifts, less headache and more energy during the day as well as they experience better working conditions with optimal light settings. Circadian rhythm light reduces sick leave, increase motivation and the risk of night-shift related diseases like chronical headache.
Healthcare light creates optimal light settings during e.g. laparoscopic operations, where a combination of green and red light creates the best conditions as it optimizes image quality, provide better visibility and highlight details to deliver quality results. Staff experience less headache during longer operations and find it easier to concentrate.
Economic impact
Energy savings from LED technology and LIGHTCARE OS controls. Circadian rhythm light can reduce the use of medication and thereby have a cost saving effect. It is shown that human centric lighting can have a cost saving effect due to better recovery of patients, optimal working conditions doing operations results in better precision and thereby quality.
